Ronnie fa la doccia fredda per la Sla

Ronnie Wood has joined the growing list of celebrities to accept the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. The veteran rocker is the first Rolling Stones band member to undertake the icy splash to raise funds for those battling amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.

The Stones guitarist posted his ice bucket video on Aug. 25 to his official Facebook page. The ex-Faces and Jeff Beck Group star takes his soaking good-naturedly, holding out his arms while receiving the bucket of icy water over his head.

In the tradition of the challenge, the two-time Rock and Roll Hall of Famer nominated three friends to take the cold plunge, including: his son Tyrone, ex-Faces bandmate Rod Stewart and actor Woody Harrelson. Numerous other high profile rockers have already taken the bucket challenge, including: Kiss, Bon Jovi , Rush frontman Geddy Lee and Foo Fighter frontman Dave Grohl.

Wood and The Stones wrapped up the European leg of their hugely successful 14 On Fire Tour last month and are currently enjoying time off before touring Australia and New Zealand. Presented by Frontier Touring in association with AEG Live, the Down Under trek kicks off on Oct. 25 in Adelaide, Australia at the Adelaide Oval. Click here for more details.

Following The Stones tour, Faces drummer Kenney Jones has stated that the remaining members of The Faces, including Wood, Stewart and keyboardist Ian McLaglan will regroup for a tour in 2015. The Faces were scheduled to reunite for a performance at their 2012 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction, but Stewart cancelled last minute due to illness and was replaced at the show by singer Mick Hucknall.

...per i Faces prenoto il biglietto visto che l'intenzione è quella di riunirli finito il tour con gli Stones, sarebbe per me un sogno che si avvera, anche se purtroppo Ronnie Lane non è più tra noi, sarebbe il modo migliore per ricordarlo. D'altra parte i rapporti con Rod S. sono più che buoni, l'unico problema rimane il rapporto tra Rod e Ian McLagan che da quel che so non è tra i migliori. Speriamo che Ronnie riesca nell'impresa....

Oscar, sull'album solista non trapelano notizie da tempo...mah...speriamo bene!

Richards: I have a solo record finished, but I don't want to put it out while the Stones are working, so I'm thinking next June.

AP: What was the process like?

Richards: We had no rush. I think we spent a couple of years. (Producer) Steve (Jordan) and I are always working somewhere else, but every month or two we'd come down here and do a couple a day and knock off a couple of tracks. ... Nearly every record I've made is ... 'You've got another five days,' but this one we're taking our time.

Keith: South America next February, more dates likely, solo record finished!



=> In an interview at Germano Studios (where he recorded his upcoming solo album), he talked with AP music writer Fekadu about the tour next year and his solo record.. He said that South America was lined up for next February, after the Australian and New Zealand gigs. This of course is also not an official Rolling Stones announcement, but it comes pretty close, I guess. He also said that after South America, Stones tours tend to get extended - that's a hint towards more possible dates maybe in 2015. He said it would sound like the band could be touring for most of next year.

He also stated that as long as the Stones were touring, he wouldn't put it out although it was finished. That, too is really good news for the times to come after 2015...

Keith Richards: pronto un nuovo album solista, forse esce a giugno 2015

Due soli album solisti all'attivo - "Talk is cheap" del 1988, "Main offender" del 1992 -, Keith Richards ha completato un terzo disco in proprio ma non sa ancora esattamente quando lo pubblicherà. "Non voglio farlo uscire mentre gli Stones sono al lavoro", ha raccontato il settantenne chitarrista di Dartford alla Associated Press. "Abbiamo una serie di concerti in calendario a febbraio, Buenos Aires, Perù. Dopo di che so come vanno le cose con i tour degli Stones, finiscono per allungarsi". A quel punto, ha rivelato Richards, la distribuzione ai negozi potrebbe verosimilmente avere luogo nel giugno del 2015.

Richards ha riferito di avere iniziato a pensare al nuovo progetto solista nel 2011, quando "la musica ha ricominciato finalmente a fiorire". Il successivo tour dei Rolling Stones ha rimesso in stallo un albym a cui il musicista ha lavorato con Steve Jordan, già suo partner negli X-Pensive Winos. "Non avevamo fretta", ha spiegato. "Ogni mese o due venivamo qui, ai Germano Studios di New York, passandoci un paio di giorni e buttando giù un paio di brani. In quasi tutti i dischi che ho fatto la regola era avere cinque giorni per completarli, ma stavolta ci siamo presi il nostro tempo".

Non trapela niente di niente sul numero dei pezzi, sui musicisti che hanno partecipato alle sessioni, sul produttore ecc... Le uniche poche parole sull'album risalgono a questa dichiarazione di Steve Jordan dello scorso anno:
"Steve Jordan gives radio.com's Brian Ives some details about the Keith project:
The Stones played two new songs during this tour, and one of them, “One More Shot,” was written by Richards for a potential solo album, according to the band’s Rolling Stone cover story earlier this year.
“We’re working on it now, it’s really pretty amazing” Jordan says, before adjusting that statement. “It’s weird to say something you’re working on is amazing. I think he’s amazing on it, is really what I mean to say. That’s basically it”
Jordan says that it isn’t an X-Pensive Winos album; rather it’s mainly the Richards/Jordan team.
And he verifies that there’s a Keith solo version of “One More Shot.”
“We cut it, and it’s great,” Jordan says. “Again, that sounds weird. What I mean to say is we really had a great time doing it. Keith was looking for a new song to bring in [to the Stones], so he asked me if I minded if he brought it in, and I said, ‘No.’ So he brought it in and they liked it, and they ended up recording it. We gave them our version to listen to. We have a version, it’s done. It has a different flavor, an additional vocal, Meegan [Voss, Jordan's wife] singing this counterpoint thing. It’s a little different, Keith is playing all of the guitars and the bass. That’s all I can say, I can’t say much more.”

Quindi, riassumendo.
- "è un album piuttosto bello, anzi è bello, cioè non è semplice definire bellissimo a qualcosa su cui stai lavorando, ma penso che sia molto bello, è veramente quello che intendevo dire. Questo è sostanzialmente" (Non mi pare molto convinto )
- "non è un album con gli X-Pensive Winos (alla Main Offender) ma è principalmente un lavoro del duo Richards - Jordan (ed anche questo aspetto mi incuriosisce non poco...che siano coinvolti anche Ronnie e Taylor?? Oh Signur!!);
- c'è la versione solista di One More Shot, con l'aggiunta della voce di Meegan Voss (moglie di Steve) e Keef vi suona tutte le chitarre ed il basso, ed ha un 'sapore differente'. (...e menomale!)
- "Questo è tutto quello che posso dire. Non posso aggiungere altro".

Qualcuno mi può tradurre il passaggio in cui Steve si rivolge a Keef così: 'Una delle cose che mi piacciono di più di suonare con te.....". Riesco a comprendere solo la citazione delle 'pause' e del 'silenzio'. Poi quando parla Keef per me è buio totale!
Comunque tra i due c'è una grandissima sintonia!

Ho guardato il filmato ed ho provato ad ascoltarlo più volte.
Sostanzialmente mi sembra che le parole di Keith girino attorno al concetto:
"Un pittore ha le tele, lo scrittore ha risme di carta bianca. Un musicista ha il silenzio."

A cui aggiunge che lui è fondamentalmente un tipo pigro, per cui non cerca di affrettarsi a completare un pezzo, se non si sente sufficientemente ispirato (Exile docet).

E' una delle sue citazioni che ho letto più spesso in giro, adesso so probabilmente da dove proviene!

Beh, comunque è veramente ancora troppo top secret questo nuovo album...Anch'io lo attendo con molta curiosità.
