Keith Richards reveals that the Rolling Stones have upcoming live shows booked
Keith Richards has confirmed rumours that surfaced recently that the Stones are to play shows in the near future in London and New York.

In an interview with Q magazine, the lead guitarist of the 50-year old band said, "We've got some shows in London, I believe, and in New York, but I really can't talk about any of that at the moment. They've put the gag on me on this. You can hint!"

Keith also commented on how the band's month of rehearsals are going: "Everybody relies upon their instincts, especially once you start working regularly together again. Because it pulls all the bits and pieces together, which when you're not working and playing with the guys, dissipates, obviously; you're not having that immediate contact.

"But kind of two days of hanging around with the guys again, a certain demon energy takes over and you wonder where it's coming from!"



In August, Billboard magazine claimed that they had found out through an undisclosed source that the band is set to play two dates at London's O2 Arena and two at Brooklyn's Barclays Center in November. Indeed, according to Billboard's source, the Stones are set to be paid $25 million for the four shows. London's O2 Arena holds 20,000, as will the Barclays Center when it is complete in September. So for the Stones to be paid this colossal amount, ticket prices are likely to be sky high (even if other funding from, for example, TV rights is brought in). The report also claimed that the dates were to be promoted by Richard Branson and Paul Dainty.



The Rolling Stones have seen a lot of action in their 50th year of operation - a 50th Anniversary photo-book, a life-story documentary entitled "Crossfire Hurricane" and a new greatest hits compilation called "GRRR!". Indeed, if one accedes to the fact that to expect a new studio album from the band in such a busy year would be unrealistic, then the only missing piece to our 2012 Stones puzzle is a few shows (come-back shows?) to round off the year of celebrations.

...Comunque 1 mese di prove per 4-5 show mi sembra un po' tanto...O che non staranno così tanto a provare o che magari ci faranno una bella sorpresina/ona facendo un vero e proprio Tour!

bè sembra che questi concerti piano piano stiano prendendo forma.....

Forse e' il topic sbagliato perche' questa non e' una news ne ufficiale ne semi ufficiale, ma solo un mio pensiero........credo che negli ultimi 5 anni non siamo mai stati cosi' vicini
come oggi ad una reale possibilita' che gli Stones tornino su un palco.
E' piu di un mese che si ventilano queste 4 date (2 Londra e 2 New York).
Io mi sento che questa possibilita' diventera' realta' e ho il presentimento che le 2 date a Londra saranno il 27 e il 29 di Novembre........
Ok se si rivelera' solo un sogno da parte mia non prendetemi troppo in giro

mi associo a Isy e credo fortemente a Keith Richards ( anche perchè è partito tutto da lui ) più di chiunque altro membro....poi se non sarà così allora saremo in due a essere fucilati!!! spero solo che non si fermino a queste presunte o fantomatiche 4 o 6 date ma che ci sa qualcosa in più che bolla in pentola........

Concerti, Rolling Stones: ancora voci, si aggiungono date

10 ott 2012 - Dopo le dichiarazioni di Keith Richards, altre esternazioni rilanciano sul ritorno all'attività dal vivo per i Rolling Stones, che per suggellare il loro cinquantesimo anniversario come band potrebbero tornare a calcare le scene prima della fine dell'anno in corso: a scatenare i boatos, questa volta, sono le informazioni date dal sassofonista Bobby Keys, storico collaboratore dell'ensemble britannico e - in particolare - dello stesso Richards, dal quale è stato coinvolto nella lavorazione del suo prossimo disco solista (del quale al momento non si hanno dettagli), a Billboard. Stando a quanto riferito dal musicista, le date in programma potrebbero essere ben più delle quattro ipotizzate in un primo momento, e - oltre a Londra e New York - gli spettacoli potrebbero tenersi in altre grandi città, non è chiaro se dei soli Stati Uniti o del mondo intero. La serie di eventi, tuttavia, potrebbe segnare definitivamente la fine della carriera del leggendario gruppo di "Exile on Main St.".

"Si faranno diversi concerti, a partire da novembre", ha fatto sapere Keys: "Due in Inghilterra e altri due qui in America. Poi se ne aggiungeranno altri. Un paio di mesi fa Keith mi ha detto che c'era qualcosa nell'aria e di farmi trovare pronto. Aspetto che mi spediscano un biglietto aereo e un tour book, e sono pronto a partire".

"Il fatto è che questo treno arriverà al capolinea molto presto", ha osservato Keys: "Non so quanto presto, però, perché loro è dagli anni Ottanta che dicono così. Però sento che questa volta sia diverso. Questo potrebbe essere una specie di 'Sayonara, ci si vede, stateci bene, fatevi sentire'... Non posso dirlo con certezza, perché ufficialmente non mi hanno comunicato niente. Quello che aspetto è un cenno di Keith. Vedremo...".

Il prossimo 12 novembre verrà distribuito sul mercato "Grrr!", monumentale greatest hits - disponibile in quattro differenti versioni, con tracklist di 50 e 80 brani a seconda dei formati - contenente i due inediti "Gloom and doom" e "One last shot".

Inspired by the Beatles "Hard Days Night," released the previous year, manager Andrew Loog Oldham hired director Peter Whitehead to film some cinema verite footage and ace engineer Glyn Johns to record the shows. The footage was collected into a maddeningly uneven 50-minute documentary called "Charlie Is My Darling" that was shopped the following year but never officially released or aired -- although wobbly bootleg copies have been making the rounds for decades -- and the reels sat in film cans, largely untouched, for more than 40 years.
More signs have surfaced pointing to some special Rolling Stones 50th anniversary shows taking place before the year's out.

In a new interview with Q magazine, guitarist Keith Richards confirms that "We've got some shows in London, I believe, and in New York, but I really can't talk about any of that at the moment. They've put the gag on me on this. You can hint!"

Rolling Stones to Play Brooklyn, London in November

It's the most concrete nod so far about a planned pair of shows on each side of the Atlantic. Billboard was first to report that the band will play two dates at London's O2 Arena and two at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn next month.

Meanwhile, Bobby Keys, the Stones' regular saxophonist, confirms to Billboard that the group is "gonna do some more concerts, starting in November with two in England and then a couple here in the States, then there's a few added concerts after that. Keith told me a couple months ago there was something in the wind and just be ready to go. I'm waiting for them to send me the plane ticket and the information, and then I'll go."

The Stones have plenty going on as those potential shows loom closer. The U.S. edition of "The Rolling Stones 50" coffee table book is due out Oct. 16. "Crossfire Hurricane," the new documentary directed by Brett Morgen, will debut at the London Film Festival and in theaters around Great Britain on Oct. 18, with its North American bow set for Nov. 15 on HBO. Another documentary, " The Rolling Stones Charlie is My Darling -- Ireland 1965," comes out Nov. 6, while a week later the group's new greatest hits set, "GRRR!," rolls out in four different configurations, all featuring the two new tracks -- "Gloom and Doom" and "One Last Shot" -- that the Stones recorded during August in Paris.

Of course, there's speculation -- as there always is -- that whatever the Stones do will be its last acts as a live entity. Keys, who's also been recording with Richards for his next solo album, says he suspects that might the case -- but with a caveat.

"The reality is this train is going to pull into the last station pretty soon -- I don't know how soon. I've been saying this since 1980," he notes with a laugh. "But I feel like it's kind of winding down. This may be sort of the 'Sayonara, see you later, had a good time, keep in touch.' I don't know that for sure. I haven't officially been told anything...I just take my cue primarily from what Keith says, so we'll have to see."

Mentre le due esposizioni sul Duca Bianco saranno alla Movie Poster Art Gallery e al prestigioso Victoria & Albert Museum, uno dei musei più belli del mondo, la mostra sugli Stones, che quest'anno come noto hanno compiuto cinquant'anni, si terrà alla Zebra Gallery. La galleria d'arte in zona Hampstead è specializzata in fotografia ed è stata fondata nel 1976 dall'artista Lee Brews. Ora gestita da Gabrielle du Plooy, sui suoi muri sono apparsi lavori di fotografi di spicco quali Gered Mankovitz, Helmut Newton, Bob Carlos Clarke, Man Ray e Philip Townsend. La Zebra, appunto per i 50 anni delle Pietre Rotolanti, ha allestito una mostra che, oltre a vari scatti rari, propone delle foto inedite: si tratta di negativi, recentemente scoperti, dal servizio che Peter Webb scattò per l'album "Sticky fingers". L'esposizione sarà aperta al pubblico dal prossimo 22 novembre.

quì si azzarda biglietti già in vendita da questo fine settimana e dicono che sono già confermate le date al 02 di londra 26 e 27 novembre, e 15/16 dicembre New Jersey !! è lo stesso sito dove gli Stones avevano detto di non comprare biglietti perchè non cera nulla di confermato......

What I’m told: confirmed dates are November 26 and 27 at the O2 Arena in London. December 15th and 16th are set for the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. The dates for the Barclays Center in Brooklyn are coming, but not agreed to yet.

This column was first to break the Prudential Center news two weeks ago. We were also first to tell you about Barclays and O2.

So what’s been the delay? Money, money, money. The Stones want it. Richard Branson is putting up $25 million to make all this happen with concert promoter Paul Dainty.

Once all the London-New York shows are sold, look for more dates. You know that Los Angeles and a few other big cities are guaranteed in 2013. It’s only rock and roll, but we like it!

Meantime, HBO has a premiere scheduled for the Stones documentary “Crossfiret Hurricane” by Brett Morgan set for November 13th in New York.

12 ott 2012 - Novembre si avvicina, il tempo stringe ed ha preso il via a pieno regime il toto scommesse sui possibili scenari che accoglieranno le prossime (non ancora rese ufficiali) esibizioni dal vivo dei Rolling Stones. A pochi giorni dalle dichiarazioni di Keith Richards - avvalorate da quelle del sassofonista Bobby Keys - il Sun ha reso note alcune indiscrezioni provenienti da "fonti vicine" ai RS che vorrebbero Jagger e soci come punte di diamante per l'edizione 2013 del Festival di Glastonbury, riprendendo un'ipotesi già formulata - e subito smontata - all'inizio del giugno scorso, a ridosso della prima data utile per festeggiare i 50 anni di attività del gruppo.
Secondo quanto riportato dal tabloid britannico infatti, Michael Eavis - patron della celebre manifestazione del Somerset, che si svolgerà dal 26 al 30 giugno 2013 - starebbe cercando in ogni modo di adulare le Pietre Rotolanti e attrarle nell'orbita di Worthy Farm: "La band sta pianificando una serie di date dal vivo, ma la tendenza è quella a lasciare le decisioni grosse all'ultimo minuto. Michael Eavis ha iniziato a prendere i contatti con alcuni loro adepti.
Sarebbe un grande colpo avere i Rolling Stones al Glasto per quello che potrebbe essere il loro ultimo tour.
Al momento non hanno un manager per segua i loro appuntamenti dal vivo e questo certo non facilita le cose.
Ma ci sono ottime possibilità che il 2013 sia l'anno buono".
