Song of the Day: 'Watching the River Flow,' the Rolling Stones

Well, here's a pleasant surprise. Not just a new Rolling Stones recording -- a cover of the Bob Dylan tune, "Watching the River Flow" -- but one that features a casually charismatic lead vocal by Mick Jagger, and bass playing by the band's original bassist, Bill Wyman (recording with the group for the first time since 1992).

The track was recorded for an album that will pay tribute to the late Rolling Stones keyboardist, Ian Stewart. Spearheaded by pianist Ben Waters, "Boogie 4 Stu: A Tribute to Ian Stewart" will be released on April 19, and will feature various Stones on various other tracks.

Stewart, who also served as the Stones' road manager and was a central figure in the band's history from their earliest days, died of a heart attack in 1985, at the age of 47.

Sedute separate. Ben Waters ha registrato le basi con Charlie, Ronnie e Bill (e gli altri) poi ha mandato le registrazioni in USA dove Keith ha aggiunto chitarra e vocals. Via email in Francia dove Mick ha aggiunto vocals ed armonica.

a prescindere se andranno in Tour o no ( sarà solo la voglia e il Dio a deciderlo ) questi due "signori" li trovo penosi e deludenti si potevano impegnare di più per onorare il grande Ian Stewart, anche se Keith mi sembra che suoni in qualche altro pezzo nel disco magari allo stesso modo però......Bravi invece Charlie, Ronnie e Bill che si stanno anche divertendo a suonare in questi ultimi tempi assieme a Mick Taylor molto bello!! tornando al disco penso che sia molto interessante ho solo ascoltato Watching the River Flow non male come pezzo anche se si sente una certa freddezza a mio parere.....
