Eric Clapton celebrated his 70th birthday this year with a seven-night run at the Royal Albert Hall, and this performance will be issued commercially across a number of formats by Eagle Rock in November.

Slowhand at 70: Live at the Royal Albert Hall will be available on 2CD+DVD, 3LP+DVD, blu-ray, DVD and a four disc deluxe edition that comes in a 12″ x 12″ 60-page book.

All the formats offer the show on video with some adding the audio but the deluxe edition adds a bonus DVD of of Eric Clapton performances at the Royal Albert Hall across the years including the Cream Farewell Tour from 1968, the Journeyman tour from 1990, a UN Benefit Concert performance with Zucchero from 2004, the Cream Reunion shows from 2005 and a Prince’s Trust Benefit performance from 2010.

Almost all formats are currently available for pre-order but the 3LP+DVD set should be highlighted because at the time of writing it’s only £20 on Amazon UK which appears to be a very good deal indeed. The four-disc deluxe book is about £35 on Amazon UK although Amazon France is your friend here offering the same set for £10 less.

Cream’s Singles Collected in New Vinyl Box



Cream‘s singles are getting the vinyl reissue treatment with a deluxe box featuring new artwork and remastered mono sound.

The box, sensibly titled The Singles 1967-1970, is available for pre-order through Universal’s online store, and shows a release date of Nov. 26.

“Cream blazed an indelible trail through the latter half of the ‘60s with their challenging and exquisite mélange of blues, pop and psychedelia,” reads the product listing. “These tracks offered a window to the wilder, widescreen adventures of their long players and here they are in glorious mono with specially designed picture sleeves; a fitting tribute to the skills of the three players, and especially to Jack Bruce, who left us in October 2014.”

The singles box marks the second major Cream vault release of the year, following a collection of three band-related films that arrived in stores in May. Fans can also look forward to the impending arrival of Eric Clapton: Live at the Royal Albert Hall — Slowhand at 70, which captures the Cream co-founder in action during his record-breaking series of dates at the titular venue earlier this year. E' prevista per il prossimo 29 gennaio l'uscita di un box contenente tutti gli album pubblicati dal cantautore e chitarrista britannico nei suoi primi dieci anni di carriera, articolato in nove LP da 180 grammi, ciascuno dei quali accompagnato da una fedele replica dell'artwork originale. In "Eric Clapton: the studio album collection 1970-1981", questo il titolo del box, saranno incluse anche versioni rimasterizzate degli album "Eric Clapton" e "Layla and other assorted love songs" (il disco realizzato con il gruppo dei Derek and the Dominos, datato 1970).

ll 20 Maggio 2016 sarà pubblicato il nuovo album di Eric Clapton dal titolo "I STILL DO"

Sta per uscire nelle prossime settimane il nuovo, e ventitreesimo album del chitarrista britannico. Per il disco Eric Clapton ha collaborato con Glyn Johns, il fonico e produttore già al fianco di Beatles, Rolling Stones, Eagles, Led Zeppelin e Who, col quale aveva già realizzato nel 1977 l'album "Slowhand" (quello di "Cocaine"). Il disco uscirà a maggio, per l'etichetta personale del musicista, la Brushbranch, distribuito da Surfdog Records.
All'album, che conterrà alcune composizioni originali di Clapton, hanno contribuito fra gli altri il batterista Henry Spinetti, il bassista Dave Bronze, il chitarrista Andy Fairweather Low e l'organista Paul Carrack. La copertina di "I still do" reca un disegno di Peter Blake, già autore delle celeberrima copertina di "Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band".
L'album fa seguito a "Eric Clapton & Friends: The Breeze, An Appreciation of JJ Cale", uscito nel 1984.

per me è sempre una notizia emozionante..

Esatto è una bella notizia perchè ci permetterà di avere Clapton in motivmento per almeno due annetti. Spero di sentirlo nuovamente dal vivo con un bel documentario. Slowhand at 70 – Live at The Royal Albert Hall è uno degli album che poi ho ascoltato lo scorso anno. Grande suono e grande band.
