Innanzitutto un inedito della fine del 61, una canzone di Little Boy Blue & The Blues Boys (gruppetto con Jagger,Richards,Dick Taylor ecc.) che non era mai uscita prima (I'm Left,You're Right,She's Gone) da nessuna parte, ci sono poi 6 canzoni stereo anch'esse mai ascoltate prima (diverso il missaggio) cosi' bene: Last Time-Satisfaction-Get Off My Cloud-19 Nervous Breakdown-Paint it Black & Have You Seen Your Mother.

http://www.collectorsmusicreviews.com/r ... o-rtt-001/ Reel Time Trip (Scorpio RTT-001) (79:30): You’re Right, I’m Left, She’s Gone (Mono) (S. Kesler & W. Taylor) (December 1961, Dick Taylor’s family home), The Last Time (Stereo) (January 17, 1965 , RCA Studios, Hollywood), (I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction (Stereo) (May 12-13, 1965 , RCA Studios, Hollywood), Get Off of My Cloud (Stereo) (September 5-7, 1965 , RCA Studios, Hollywood), 19th Nervous Breakdown (Stereo), December 3-10, 1965 , RCA Studios, Hollywood), Paint It Black (Stereo) (March 6-10, 1966 , RCA Studios, Hollywood), Have You Seen Your Mother, baby, Standing In The Shadow? (Stereo) (August 4-12, 1966 , RCA Studios, Hollywood), Gimme Shelter (Stereo) (February 22-25, 1969, Olympic Sound Studios, London (alternative lyrics)), You Got The Silver (Stereo) (February 17, 1969 , Olympic Sound Studios, London) (Mick on vocals), Loving Cup (Stereo) (June 10 - July 2, 1969 , Olympic Sound Studios, London) (early version), Sister Morphine (Stereo) (March 28-31, 1969, Olympic Sound Studios, London), Brown Sugar (Stereo) (December 2-4, 1969, Muscle Shoals Sound Studios, Alabama) (Version 3 ), Dead Flowers (Stereo) (December, 1969, Olympic Sound Studios, London) (alternative lyrics), Bitch (Stereo) (February 17 - March, 1970 Rolling Stones Mobile, Stargroves, Newbury), Angie (Stereo) (November 25-30 & December 6-21, 1972, Dynamic Sound Studios, Kingston, Jamaica), Winter (November 25-30 & December 6-21, 1972, Dynamic Sound Studios, Kingston, Jamaica), Silver Train (November 25-30 & December 6-21, 1972, Dynamic Sound Studios, Kingston, Jamaica), Dancing With Mr. D (November 25-30 & December 6-21, 1972, Dynamic Sound Studios, Kingston, Jamaica), Criss Cross Man (November 25-30 & December 6-21, 1972, Dynamic Sound Studios, Kingston, Jamaica) Reel Time Trip is another Rolling Stones outtakes collection on Scorpio, the label who have produced many definitive collections in the past (including the Time Trip series and the Genuine Black Box 1961 1974 issued last year). There are several outstanding virtues which make this release attractive. The first track is a never before released demo from Little Boy Blue & The Blue Boys. Recorded in December 1961, this was recorded in the back room of Dick Taylors’ parents home with the band consisting of Mick Jagger on vocal, Keith Richard and Bob Beckwith on guitars, Dick Taylor on bass and Allen Etherington on percussion. “You’re Right, I’m Left, She’s Gone” is recorded in very good mono. Chuck Berry was the biggest influence upon the Stones. The second Little Boy Blue & The Blue Boys demo, recorded a month later, is comprised of three Berry covers ”Johnny B. Goode,” “Little Queenie” and “Beautiful Delilah.” However, it is interesting to note that the first demo session has “You’re Right, I’m Left, She’s Gone” because it was recorded by Elvis Presley and was issued as the B-side to “Baby, Let’s Play House” on Sun Records issued in April 1955. Very rarely did the Stones reference Elvis and the demo offers a glimpse into their early inspirations. The rest of the tracks, according to the liner notes, are “transferred from the original audio tapes on an Ampex 440 B2 audio tape recorder to Digidesign 002 audio Interface to Pro Tools 24/96 wav to DVD and transferred to cd and re sampled from 24/96 to 16/44.1 using Peak 6.0 for MAC.” The sound quality has never sounded as good, especially on the tracks recorded in the 1960’s. The final three tracks, “Silver Train,” “Dancing With Mr. D” and “Criss Cross Man” have faint traces of tape hiss, but are very clear and enjoyable nevertheless. Reel Time Trip is packaged in a standard jewel case with classy looking glossy paper inserts and a very thick booklet with detailed liner notes for each track. Scorpio have been at the forefront in bringing new Rolling Stones outtakes to the collecting community and score high for the new demo of “You’re Right, I’m Left, She’s Gone.” They also score high for the significant upgrade in sound quality in the other tracks contained on the disc.

REVIEW:
This release of the Stones 6th Time Trip called Reel Time Trip brings back the original Scorpio label (not the fake European one) that has given Stones fans so many interesting tracks in the past. Following the tactic used on Genuine Black Box they put out another unreleased track back from the Little Boy Blue & The Blues Boys days (late 61) that never appeared before in any form but that is not all because this release is full of good surprises. First let s talk about packaging, it is hard to get such high class from an underground label as the back cover has detailed track listing and re-mastering information, the disc looks actually like a Reel to Reel tape and is close to 80 minutes length but the main thing is the 12 pages booklet that serves as front cover because once opened it shows great pictures of the actual Reel to Reel boxes (and even Little Boy Blue & The Blues Boys!) and has detailed information of every song: all on glossy paper. The songs themselves are in great soundboard quality and in stereo! (except the first one of course) coming from various acetates and sessions and show an alternative look at the Stones studio output. The set opens with 2.30 minutes of “You re Right, I m Left, She s Gone” recorded in the back room of Dick Taylor s parents home, followed by a string of 60s hits recorded in Hollywood from January 65 through August 66 engineered by Dave Hassinger: these are true stereo versions as identified on the covers of the tapes boxes; it does make a difference in listening to “The Last Time” or “Satisfaction” in real stereo and without hiss. “The Last Time” stereo was very dirty sounding in other boots so far, not in here at all and the song is 4 seconds longer! “Satisfaction” is the wider stereo mix different from Abkco remastered version which had about all instruments together except for piano/acoustic guitar which was split with a delay on both left & right channels, this version is also 5 seconds longer as it ends at 3.50. As for “Get Off Of My Cloud” which came out in stereo previously on early pressed London cd but was again in mono on Abkco remastered series, this is a real stereo one with backing vocals and lead guitar on the right channel. Am I wrong or for “19th Nervous Breakdown” in stereo is a real first time? Contrary to other songs this one was never available in re-processed stereo either; this version seems to run a bit faster than the mono one, actually lasts 5 seconds less (3.50). “Paint It Black” is also different as it lasts only 3.14 (10 seconds shorter) with different mix (bass on the other channel respect drums); “Have You Seen Your Mother, Baby, Standing In The Shadow?” is surely from a master tape as the previously available stereo version was so poorly sounding, this version has a more prominent piano on the left channel. So let alone the surprise of the newly released first track, so far the following 6 are real gems for Stones collectors. Next we get some songs we are used to, like the early alternate versions of “Gimme Shelter” called the Acetate version or Keith vocals take with different lyrics (a burning carpet instead of a red coal carpet), “You Got The Silver” sung by Jagger, version number 3 of “Brown Sugar” which is the basic track for all following versions with two electric and one acoustic guitars (the latter seems to be more prominent in the mix than before). Furthermore there is the extended fade take of “Sister Morph” (that is how it is written), an early “Loving Cup” with Jagger repeating the end of lines 1 and 2 (Come on up/Face full of mud) and no female back vocals nor brass. Apart from these the best is yet to come as the late 72 stuff reveals to be much more interesting and newly surfaced outtakes that are rough but so full of energy that make pale all other versions. We do get versions 2 of both Angie” and “Winter” that are well known and not that different from the released ones here in excellent quality, but also an alternate take of “Silver Train” (4.25) that has much less hiss than previously released versions and here the bass is very upfront and drives the songs which has a dirty hard edge the officially released version on Goat s Head soup does not have. As per the 4.56 minutes of ”Dancing With Mr.Dee” (written this way on the Reel to Reel back cover) it does have a different and stunning Taylor guitar solo, unfortunately this song is marred by the fall of one channel around the 3.00 minutes (had it been transferred some years ago maybe the original analogue tape was in better condition?), however there seems to be different Jagger vocals throughout and the track ends with a short drum solo by Charlie Watts. It is “Criss Cross Man” also known as “Save Me” which is the best track of this compilation: a fantastic early rough cut with un-doubled Mick vocals and an amazing Bobby Keys partition in great stereo, this is the most complete and longer release of this track at this date (4.41 minutes with a long fade at the end where Jagger sings in falsetto but the track that seems finished at 4.34 comes up again when Jagger tells Robert (?) to turn it down. (As a fan wrote: the movie version is longer but does have a plane takeoff noise on the end). So what to say about this release? It certainly is the best Stones underground cd of the year, we can only hope for other similar future releases by Scorpio.
