Rolling Stones: sesso, droga e rock’n’roll nelle camere d’albergo? No. I quattro chiedono istruzioni per la tv, come “qualsiasi vecchietto”

Altro che Sesso Droga e Rock’n’Roll. Ormai i Rolling Stones hanno bisogno di istruzioni scritte anche per usare una televisione o un DVD. Mick Jagger ha 72 anni, Charlie Watts 74, Keith Richards 71 e Ronnie Wood 68. Come qualsiasi nonno, che chiama il nipote quando non riesce a far funzionare il telecomando o si incarta sui tasti dell’Iphone, anche i maledetti del rock hanno gli stessi problemi di molte persone della loro età.

E quando vanno in albergo chiedono esplicitamente che vengano lasciate delle istruzioni scritte su come utilizzare tutta l’elettronica in camera. La rivelazione viene dal sito web americano TMZ, che ha pubblicato la lista delle richieste fatte dai quattro in ogni albergo dove si sono fermati durante il loro tour in Nord America di questa estate.

Molte sono richieste in linea con quello che ci aspetterebbe da una rockband: fiumi di alcool sempre a disposizione, un servizio di maggiordomo 24 ore su 24, una vasta scelta di sigarette tra cui Marlboro Red e Marlboro Lights, vetri oscurati per poter sbroccare in perfetta privacy, un servizio di lavaggio a secco disponibile anche dopo la mezzanotte.

Capricci da star, niente di strano. Ma il particolare imbarazzante, pubblicato da TMZ, è la lista che ogni albergo ha dovuto stilare, di come utilizzare le cose più comuni. Dall’aria condizionata, alle luci fino ai lettori DVD, chiaramente Mick e compagni hanno un problemino su come padroneggiare la tecnologia.

Divertiamoci a immaginare Mick Jagger che inforca gli occhiali da presbite cerca di decifrare il manualetto per far partire un DVD (tra l’altro, chi li usa più i DVD?). O Keith che lascia la chitarra e ingaggia una battaglia con la pulsantiera dell’aria condizionata.

In una recente intervista Keith Richards si è descritto come una “qualsiasi altro vecchietto” che raggiunge la sua massima felicità quando può uscire e girellare in giardino. Nel tour precedente avevano anche chiesto una televisione satellitare per poter seguire le partite di cricket, lo sport anglosassone più classico e noioso, gli antipodi di un’attività da rockstar.

Nonostante i problemi con i pulsanti e led, i Rolling Stones non pare abbiano ancora intenzione di andare in pensione. A inizio 2016 ripartiranno per una nuova tournee in Sud America, proseguendo il lungo tour iniziato nel 2012 per celebrare il 50esimo anniversario della band. E di recente i giornali inglesi davano per certo l’arrivo di un nuovo album, dopo il silenzio più lungo della loro carriera, visto che l’ultimo disco “A Bigger Band” è del 2005.

Quello che da fastidio (almeno a me ) ma credo anche a voi, e' che certa stampa italiana continua nei decenni a scrivere articoletti noiosi e inutili sui nostri.. sempre con un taglio abbastanza snob.. e poi ancora con sto a bigger band..

How the Rolling Stones Made Their Own History on the ‘Ed Sullivan Show’
It might not be considered to be as much of a cultural touchstone as the Beatles‘ debut appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show, but that doesn’t mean it was any less historic. On Oct. 25, 1964, the Rolling Stones performed on the popular CBS variety show for the first time.

This was actually the Rolling Stones’ second time in America. A few months earlier, their first U.S. tour, which began before they had a proper hit in the country, was met largely with indifference. (The low point was being booed offstage in San Antonio.) An ill-advised shot on Dean Martin’s Hollywood Palace, which found the host taking potshots at his guests, didn’t help much, either.

By the fall, however, “Tell Me” and “It’s All Over Now” had gotten into the U.S. Top 40, and “Time Is on My Side” was making its way up the Billboard Hot 100, where it would peak in November at No. 6. Now, the Rolling Stones felt, was right opportunity to re-introduce the band in America – in the same spot where their friends had made such a powerful showing.

As you can see in the video above, they didn’t open with their budding hit. Instead, the Rolling Stones performed a cover of Chuck Berry‘s “Around and Around,” which they had memorably recorded at the legendary Chess Studio in Chicago. They saved “Time Is on My Side” for their second spot that night.

The girls in the audience, as they had been for the Beatles in February (and, for that matter, Elvis Presley eight years before), were practically uncontrollable. Ed Sullivan can barely get through the introductions for all the screaming and at times seems to almost lose his patience. “You promised, my little chickadees,” he said, echoing screen legend W.C. Fields.

However, not everybody was as thrilled about seeing England’s newest hitmakers as the teenagers in attendance. The Ed Sullivan website features a scan of a telegram from a man named Claude Lopez who said Sullivan “should be ashamed of yourself putting on such trash as the Rolling Stones. [Signed] A Disappointed Viewer.”
